How We Work

Yes, we accept new clients year-round. We prefer that you reach out prior to January 1st to establish a relationship if you want us to file taxes for you that year. The earlier you reach out, the more time we have to help you make strategic decisions that can minimize your tax liability.

Tax information should be shared as soon as you have it. We work on a first-come first-serve basis, so delaying to the last minute could result in us having to file an extension. You don’t have to wait until you have everything. You can upload information as it comes in and that gives us a head-start.

We use state-of-the-art tax software that will guide you through the process with a digital tax organizer. This streamlines the process, so we are not exchanging endless emails. Of course, we are also available both through email and in-person, if that works better for you.

A tax organizer is a digital questionnaire that we use to gather your tax information. It will ask you key questions about your financial situation. It streamlines the tax preparation process by making sure we have everything we need and that it is presented in an organized manner. If you’ve ever used TurboTax, some of the questions will sound familiar because that software was designed to function like a tax organizer.

You can pay your federal taxes online at https://www.irs.gov/payments as soon as your return has been submitted. You will find instructions for other ways to pay as well. For Georgia, you can go to https://dor.georgia.gov/taxes/how-do-i-make-tax-payment to see your payment options. If you owe taxes to another state, we’ll let you know how to pay.

Yes, we’d be happy to represent you in an IRS audit, even if we didn't prepare your tax return. It’s a stressful situation and not the easiest to navigate on your own. We will use our expertise to help you avoid fees, penalties, and interest, if at all possible.
